          "text": "Talking with Gene at the ARCHON SFCon in St. Louis last weekend, he\nsaid he has the FIFTH Volume of the BotNS TRILOGY #$%&* about ready\nto come out - as he said - it's like breaking the sound barrier -\nonce you get past the boundary, it gets easier.  Anyway, the new\nvolume is \"probably the last\" and will be called _The Urth of the\nNew Sun_; Sevarian will have been on throne ten years, it skips his\nreign as Autarch, and the book concerns his attempt to penetrate the\nbarrier between the universes and get a new sun for Urth, using a\nship called a SunJammer with a mass of ten thousand tonnes and one\nhundred and fifty thousand spars and sails.  With his flair for the\ndescriptive phrase, it ought to be another extraordinary book.  By\nthe way, he pointed out in response to a question that he works very\nhard at researching and checking the derivations of the words he\nuses in BotNS.  It sometimes takes him two weeks to find just the\nright work to to evoke the nuances he wants to express.  He seemed a\nlittle abashed when he admitted that there are actually (GASP) two\nmistakes he knows of in the first four volumes: Once a proofreader\nmissed a typo and they got Artello instead of Martello and once he\n(Gene) made an obscure mistake which he doubts anyone will ever\nnotice.  Damn, I wish the rest of the authors and publishers were\nthat good - most of them don't seem to care!\n\nSee you all at WORLDCON!
