"text": "I never thought of asking Dr. Science about the true nature of Yesod vs.\nBriah time, or how Father Inire's mirrors work. Could this be a clue -- I\nmean, maybe this Arthur \"Hellenson\" [Hellenic Art?] is really another\nWolfe-alias-in-Arthur's-clothing. Hmmm. The actual Dr. Science transcript\nfollows:\n\nDear Doctor Science,\nIs sitting in a barbershop's barber chair between two mirrors a true\nreflection of the idea of infinity?\n\n-- Arthur Hellenson from Edwards AFB, CA\n\nJust as the revolving red-and-white-striped barber pole is a corruption\nof certain Egyptian symbols of infinity, barbershop mirrors face each\nother to give mere mortals a taste of the infinite. In the old days you\ncould get a taste of the infinite and a quick trim for four bits.\nNowadays we don't have barbers; we have hairstylists. A quick trim\ntakes an hour, costs you thirty bucks, and the only thing you see in\nthe mirror is yourself. Hairstylists all have names like Ramon or Pepsi\nor Bambi, and they have no sense of perspective. I'm afraid that the\ncheap haircut, like infinity itself, is fast becoming a thing of the\npast.\n-------------\nSubscription questions - send a blank message to faq at drscience.com.\nVisit the Ask Dr. Science web site at <http://www.drscience.com>\nsponsored by the fine folks at Internet Direct.
