"text": "I have in my hands as I write this the book _GURPS New Sun_ by our own\nMichael Andre-Driussi (aka mantis). For those who still aren't aware of it,\nit is a supplement to the roleplaying game system GURPS based on the New\nSun books.\n\n\nHIGHLIGHTS:\n\n* Great chapter-by-chapter synopsis of the five books\n\n* History of Urth\n\n* Lots of maps\n\n* Summary of Commonwealth social structure\n\n* Interesting to see artists' conceptions of Urth; illustrations are\noccasionally quite clever (look twice at the one on p. 90 for example)\n\n* Interesting to read some of mantis's explicit guesses on New Sun \"mysteries\"\n\n* Can be read fruitfully without knowledge of GURPS\n\n\nFLAWS:\n\n* Text and illustrations somewhat bowdlerised for a mass-market audience\n\n* Illustrations occasionally cheesy\n\n* Not long enough! :-)\n\n\nSUMMARY:\n\nA must-read for Urthlings! You can order yours at\n\n <http://www.sjgames.com/>\n\nif you have no enlightened games shops nearby. I ordered mine on a weekend\nduring the holiday season and received it via UPS 5 days later.\n\n\nDISCLAIMER:\n\nI have no financial interest in the success of this book, but wish mantis\nwell as fellow listmember and New Sun reader.\n\nRon H-E"
