          "text": "In his review of Paul J. McAuley's CONFLUENCE series,\njust posted on SF WEEKLY, John Clute does a systematic\ncomparison of the trilogy with THE BOOKS by Wolfe. I\nagree with Clute's analysis; but McAuley himself\ndownplays the homage element. In any event, I strongly\nrecommend CONFLUENCE to everyone; SHRINE OF STARS, the\nfinal volume, is very like a redemptive parody of THE\nURTH OF THE NEW SUN.\n\n\n====="
