And re the\n\"Hey, I'm dead!\" cliche in \"Ain't You 'Most Done?\":\nWolfe has done this rather often, but as a conclusion\nto the collection, it has a usefully redemptive\nsignificance after much preceding gloom: Benson seems Heavenbound."
