Any information?\n\n\"There is a Wolfe autobiographical essay in the \"Gale\nContemporary Authors' Series\" or some such title; the\nonly thing I'm sure of is the Gale, which is a company\nthat assembled books of writers' autobiographical\nessays, etc etc., for libraries. I have a xeroxed copy\nof that essay somewhere out in the garage in a box\nfull of Wolfe material--there was a time when I was\ntrying to collect and read all his short stories, well\nbefore they had been published in books; the attempt\nto find his first story in SIR magazine led me into\nsome very shabby and disreputable used book stores in\nSan Francisco, basements filled with shelves of porn\nand old racy magazines from the 50s and 60s, but never\nthat particular issue. Anyway, the autobiographical\nessay is typically Wolfean, a gem that doesn't tell\nyou a great deal more than you already know, but is\ninteresting nonetheless. I think Gene put a lot of\nthought into it.\""
