SAVE ME\n\n Save me\n Save me from you\n But pave me\n The way to you\n Lead me upon the captive free...\n\nWhat could that be but Thecla wheedling Severian?\n\n2. THE MIND OF LOVE\n\n ...Where is your head, Kathryn?\n Where is your head?\n\nThe Feast of Holy Katherine. Do I have to draw a picture?\n\n3. MISS CHATELAINE\n\n ...I can't explain why I've become\n Miss Chatelaine\n\n4. WASH ME CLEAN\n\n You swim\n Swim through my veins...\n\nSeverian takes the alzabo with the flesh of Chatelaine\nThecla and absorbs her memories and personality, leading to\nconfusion and identity crisis as she is in effect\nreincarnated in his body.\n\n5. SO IT SHALL BE\n\n Shadows\n Now curtain the moon\n But faith swears\n It will shine again soon\n Shine with love\n You've been hiding from me...\n\nSeverian harbors a false hope that Thecla still lives, and\nis waiting for him, somewhere, just out of sight.\n\n ...Like daylight chasing the dark...\n\n(Notice the sun/moon/shadow symbolism that recurs throughout\nthe Book of the New Sun.)\n\n I can exist being caught by your kiss\n Willingly\n Or grant you control\n Of my body and soul\n Ask it and so it shall be\n\nEventually he must accept that if she lives at all, it is\nonly within him.\n\nlang clearly is not trying to recapitulate the entire _Book\nof the New Sun_; rather, she's focusing on one particular\nstoryline of interest to her. I have probably missed many\nof the significant details, and I don't know what the second\nhalf of the album is about.
