          "text": "I read GW's new short story, \"Shields of Mars\" (in the\nJune 2002 MARS PROBES anthology from DAW) last night.\nA straight Hard SF tale about engineers tending a\nnuclear reactor on Mars, but with a wonderful\ntransformative twist at the end. Very shrewd stuff\n(and the rest of the anthology, I should add, is\npretty good too--Aldiss, McAuley, O'Leary, Baxter,\nMoorcock, McDonald...).\n\nBest,\nNick."
