          "text": "I admit for a long time I imagined the Carabao to look\nlike a Caribou.\nI dreamt last night of a shaman wearing a stag's head\nwith antlers.\n\nThe carabao, as anyone who fought in the Korean War\ncould probably tell you. is the Water Buffalo, with\nwhom we have a long working relationship, what use is\na rice field with no carabao to help work the land?\nIt is the national animal of the Philipines.\nFor reasons that are still not fully clear to me, I am\nattempting to learn Pidgin and I was amused to find\nthis gem :\nhttp://www.asianjoke.com/Filipino/night_before_christmas.htm\n\nI assumed, the spelling Gene used was merely to allow\nan association with the Marquis of Carabos, blurring\nthe lines between animals and humans.\n\n'Cara' is Italian for Beloved.\nI suggest the Carabao may have been a 'beloved abo',\npossibly the Wise Old One.\n\nThere would be a certain irony for the anthropologist\nto kill the object of his studies, without realising\nit.\n\nPerhaps this is the crime which the prisoner 143 is\naccused of.\n(I will post my thoughts on the significance of that\nnumber later.)\n\nThere is an early 'Cure' song 'Killing an Arab' based\non Camus' famous murder story.\nIf we look behind the animal mask, squinting in the\nharsh sunlight, we can see 'Killing a C(arab)ao' as a\nheinous crime.\nBehind the mask, we can see another pair of eyes,\nwhich look almost human.\nI think this is one aspect of the 'double-pupilled'\neyes.\nThe fish mentioned was pointed out to me by a\ncreationist as evidence that evolution is wrong, I was\nnot convinced by his arguments.\n\nThe whole carcass of this beast is said to weigh 15\npounds, remarkably light, unless he is just talking\nabout the mask. He then specifically mentions parts of\nthe animal that he was not taking.\n\nAnother option is that it was just a baby Carabao of\ncourse... Does GW eat veal?\n\n=====\n\n\n\n\t\n\t\n\t\t"
