There didn't\nseem to be many others in the chat - someone logged on as\n\"Hierodule\", someone named \"KevinM\" and someone named \"Bluejack\",\nas I recall.\n\nThe transcript will be available (according to People) sometime\nearly next week.\n\nSome tidbits that I recall off the top of my head:\n\nSPOILERS, OF COURSE:\nMerryn is \"almost certainly\" Severian's sister. \n\n\"New Sun\" takes place 1000-2000 years in the future (but this can't\nbe right!).\n\nThere are other inhumi on \"Whorl.\" Something about which planet\nthey came from, Blue or Green, but I don't remember.\n\n\"Short Sun\" takes place twenty years after \"Long Sun\". Severian\nand Merryn may appear.\n\nThe next contract he's signing with Tor includes the Short Sun\ntetralogy and a collection of short stories.\n\nThere was some discussion of Castleview, the story about how\nhe got the idea for the Guild of Torturers, the unsurprising\nrevelation that he doesn't watch much TV. \n\nAuthors he recommended included John Crowley, Terry Bisson,\nand some other authors. He hasn't read much Cordwainer Smith.\n\nMore will have to wait for the transcript.\n\nGeoff"
