Do we have any idea as to what Chris's surname might be?  I believe at  one 
point he indicates it is long and hard to pronounce, and I suppose it would  
have been Italian in origin.  The reference to a pirate named "Cos" or  "Kruss" 
would seem most likely to be a mangling of his first name,
