Not long ago\nthey tried to act, as they thought, on behalf of some of their members\nwith regard to some electronic rights issues. It turned out, if I\nremember correctly, that the SFWA were not empowered to act for any of\nthose members, and for some authors--I recall in particular Cory\nDoctorow--their actions were in direct opposition to the authors'\nwishes.\n\nMr. Wolfe's agent would be a much better person to notify. The agent\nis responsible for protecting the author's rights, and will also know\nwhether or not any particular publication is authorized. Regrettably,\nsince Virginia Kidd's death, I no longer know who that may be. The situation is not 100% clear. Reading through it, it *seems* this fellow downloaded the MP3 files, converted them to WAV, and burned them to CD and is now offering the CDs for sale. If that's true, that's quite likely a copyvio.\n\nBut suppose he bought or was given the CDs, then he probably has every right to sell them. Physical objects don't really come with EULAs (first-sale doctrine and so on).
