But when Silk enters her room,\nhe cannot find her, until she materialises later, which suggests her\nbody travels as well.\n\nNext, what are devils? The 'devils' about which Pike warned Silk are\nclearly inhumi. But as I understand it, inhumi were not present on the\nWhorl from the start, so what are the devils mentioned in the\nChrasmologic writings? Of course, they may not really be anything -\njust figures of myth which the compilers of the Writings thought it\nwould be nice to include. (Does anyone know if the passage Silk reads\nduring the exorcism has a definite source?) Silk that \n*her window (ie. physical window to her room) has to be open* in order \nfor her to send forth her 'spirit'. Silk is convinced of this at the \ntime. We do not get any details about the exposure of Pr. \nQuetzal as an inhumu until some time within BOTSS when Silk/Horn gets to \nremember details of the combat under Viron. We learn relatively early in \nBOTLS that there is definitely something ... odd shall we say ... about \nQuetzal, but it's not spelled out for a good long while.\n\nAnd I don't recall any specific information regarding when Quetzal (and \nany others of his kind) may have infiltrated the Whorl.
