          "text": "I did not realize there had been any significant critical backlash against\nNEW SUN---always thought it was considered a classic right out of the gate\nby \"considered opinion\" and retained that status. (At this point I say I\nprefer SHORT SUN of the Suns, but that is based on memory more than\njudgement. And I was one of those who managed to read and love NEW SUN\nwhile remaining completely ignorant of key facts about what I'd read,\nhaving them revealed only via commentary later.           "text": "I'm with you on this. I first read New Sun on a lark, without knowing its place and importance in the literary science fiction world.
