It was indeed fascinating to see how many\ndivergent interpretations there were of such a seemingly simple story.  It\ncould even make a very informative case study of the process of\ninterpretation.  (Maybe somebody will write \"S/D,\" microanalyzing the\noriginal story and the discussion in the same way that Barthes analyzed a\nBalzac story in his book S/Z.)\n\n--Adam"

What did concern me slightly was \nthe possibility that my conclusions might be given without the reasoning \nbehind them, making them appear more speculative than they are..\n(After all, I don't know how much space the editors at NYRSF will give\nyou.)
