Middlemarch. =)  It's a discursive novel, very \nconfident in its size, it strolls, and Eliot intrudes her voice in the text \nmaybe a little too often, but the girlfriend suggests that Eliot's voice is \nreally the voice of ... Middlemarch.\n  \n The point of the novel seems to be, don't count too much on money or \nmarriage. I think a beastie or two would liven things up. Zounds! The \nalzabo ate Ladislaw!\n  \n It is really a lovely story -- slow, wise, smart.
