          "text": "My sense of the Shadow Children and why a last one (\"call me Ishi\")\nproduces a Group Norm of Self/Other confusion:\n\nPlease correct me.  I think the name sets change entirely for each\nnumber group of Shadow Children.\n\nWhen there is only one Shadow Child, he is \"Wolf.\"\n\nWhen there are five (or maybe six? if we include the newly adopted\none) then one of the group (or each?) is \"Swan.\"\n\nAt stages in between one and five (or six) there are \"Foxfire,\"\n\"Hatcher,\" \"Hunter.\"\n\nTo make one set of all this (under the possibly incorrect assumption\nthat new names are added to the list rather than having an entirely\ndifferent list for each group size):\n\n1. Wolf\n2. Foxfire\n3. Hatcher\n4. Hunter\n5. Swan\n6. (the New One)\n\nWell anyway, we don't know what the optimum number of Shadow Children\nis.  When it gets down to one, i.e., \"Wolf,\" it is actually =two=\nbecause Sandwalker (adopted as \"the New One\" in my terminology above)\nis still there.\n\nSo we don't really know what a lone Shadow Child would be called.\n\nAnd we do know that the Group Norm of \"Wolf\" in \"A Story\" is one\nShadow Child and one something-more-human, that is to say, the Group\nNorm is now 50% Shadow Child and 50% human, where it started out as\n84% Shadow Child and 15% human.  Thus the fuzzy nature of tribal\nidentity at this later stage.\n\nThrow me a bone, as it is said.\n\n=mantis="
