          "text": "Dan'l wrote great wisdom on covers, but...\n\nI just recently bought the omnibus Jack Vance _Dying Earth_ trade pb (my\nLancer _Dying Earth_ is falling apart, etc.).  The cover depicts a genre\nspaceship hovering over a genre future-abstract planet's surface.  This book\nis published by Orb, which, as I recall, is Tor (Wolfe's publisher) under an\nassumed name.  _Dying Earth_ is, as I hope we all know,\nmagic&fantasy&manners set in the far, far future.
