"text": "Two points have arisen:\n\n1) The esteemed Kevin Maroney points out that Krait\nimparted what he assumed to be the full Secret to Horn\nlong before the first episodes of astral travel; how\nthen can astral travel be part of the Secret? Well,\nthe Secret has two parts: a passive part revealed by\nKrait (the reproductive behaviour of the inhumi and\ntheir general dependence on human blood for\nintelligence) and an active or inferrable part (that\nhumans can come to Green and do a Herod on embryonic\ninhumi). Krait's revelation to Horn is dangerous at\nthe time of its utterance because the knowledge can be\nused by humans in other ways--people already on Green\n(like Sinew) can attack the breeding pools directly\nand people from Blue (like Hari Mau) could come to\nGreen on landers for the same purpose. Astral travel\nsimply makes the process particularly\nstraightforward...\n\n2) The Ring playing a role in astral travel: Horn had\nno ring at the time of his first astral jaunt (to\nNessus, late in IGJ.)\n\n--Nick Gevers."
