"text": "Distractions...\n\n1. Those of you who want to learn to talk like Tick should\nlook for the book _Anguish Languish_ by Howard L. Chace\n(late '50s?). It's an entire book of familiar poems and\nstories as recited by a catachrest.\n\n Marry hatter ladle limb\n Itch fleas worse widest snore\n An ever-wear debt Marry win\n Door lamp worse shorter gore.\n\nA French-speaking catachrest reciting English rhymes (named\nSparling? Anyone got a better suggestion?) would have\nwritten _Mots d'heures: gousses, rames_ by Courtlandt\nH. K. Van Rooten (1967).\n\n\n2. From now on, nobody's allowed to speculate on the\nlocation of Nessus unless they balance it with an equal or\ngreater amount of speculation on the geography of the Whorl.\nViolators will be fined two cardbits. The moderator has\nspoken. Speculation follows:\n\nRemember that Typhon came to rule the entire short-sun\nwhorl, so it's likely that he plucked colonists from all\nover the planet to settle on the Whorl-- thus the variety of\ncultures in the different cities. I wonder if he laid 'em\nout in any pattern or just scattered them around? With\nTrivigaunte next-door to Viron, it seems unlikely.\n\nRandom thought: Mamelta's not Vironese, so her name doesn't\nneed to be a plant.\n\n\n3. The Seal of Pas:\n 5553 8783 4223 9700 34\n 2221 0401 1101 7276 56\n\nThey're either Mastercard numbers (long expired by 332) or\nTyphon's PGP key.\n\n\nFinally, a reminder: please send BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS with\nbrief descriptions/reviews to Ultan at moonmilk.volcano.org so\nwe can open a whorl library. Just those books, please,\nwhich you like specifically because you're the kind of\nperson who reads Wolfe. Um, if you know what I mean.\n\n r.\n\nQuestions or problems to whorl-owner at lists.best.com"
