The \"e\" is the long \"e\", the \"eta,\" which has a bright\n\"ay\" sound and can become the broad \"a\" sound as in \"cat, bat, rat.\" The\nfinal \"s\" drops off in compounds, as in khresmodoteo, \"give an oracular\nresponse.\" BTW, a related word, \"khrisma,\" means \"anointing,\" and is the\nroot for \"Christos,\" the Anointed One. But here it is khresmo-, \"oracular.\"\n\nLogos - word, speech.\n\nKhresmologia - oracular word.\n\nChrasmologic Writings would really just mean Oracular Writings, or more\ncomplexly, Writings of Oracular Messages.\n\n\nNutria, the Big, Big Rat\n\n\nQuestions or problems to whorl-owner at lists.best.com"
