"text": "This is Sean Whalen (prion).\n\nThis is the list and index of all characters appearing in the Long Sun\nbooks have been talked about in this series of letters. Vironese\nbiochemical males have the names of animals or animal products. \nVironese biochemical females have the names of plants or plant\nproducts, with fungi being included into their definition of plants. \nVironese chemical people are named after metals or minerals. Names of\nanimals and of people from other places both in and out of the Whorl\ndo not conform to these patterns.\n\nMany of the Vironese names are animals or plants from the Americas,\nparticularly South America. The names of the chems are usually metals\nor minerals that are easily breakable, or came about as the result of\nthe decay of other metals or minerals.\n\nThe characters are arranged in alphabetical order. Their nationality,\nphysical composition, and sex appear in that order after their name in\nabbreviated form. For example, Abanja is a Trivigaunti biochemical\nfemale (TBF). Characters with no recognized nationalities appear\nwithout any information given for that category. Characters who\nformerly possessed a sex but no longer possess it are listed with the\nsex they previously had. For example, Abanja is a Trivigaunti\nbiochemical female. The abbreviations are as follows:\n\nNationalities:\n\nB-Blue\nG-Green\nM-Mainframe\nP-Pre-Whorl (Urth and others that made the Whorl)\nT-Trivigaunti\nU-Unknown\nV-Vironese\n\nCompositions (species):\n\nA-Biochemical animal\nB-Biochemical human\nC-Chemical\nD-Digital program\nI-Inhumu\nR-Religious or mythological figure\nT-Talus\nU-Unknown\n\nSexes:\n\nF-Female\nM-Male\nN-None\nU-Unknown\n\nAbanja.
