Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Excellent stuff, far-future SF set on an atmospherically evoked low-tech
Earth with high-tech undercurrents. Expect to have to pay close attention
to work out what the hell is going on. If you loved the literary quality of
the Hyperion books, you should enjoy these, though the tone is much darker.

The "Long Sun" series is newer, and as yet unfinished, but it has a
different setting (though with one or two very slight links) to the "New
Sun" books.
