This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

slight SPOILERS for PEACE and SOLDIER of ARETE

I haven't read PEACE yet, but I do recall that Latro builds just such a
"memory place" (or memory palace) in SOLDIER of ARETE. I'm not sure how
relevant that is, though... Well, perhaps if you're dead, you need a
"memory place" to remind you of your life, and who you were? And what would
be better for this purpose than your actual house, with the furnishings
tied to your actual memories? And since you're dead, the house is perhaps
in some mystical way coincident with your grave... that would explain the
tree.
