This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I think Wolfe is our greatest contemporary SF writer.  So I'm biased.
Take my words with whatever grains of salt you need.

But why not try the short stories?  "Forlesen".  "Seven American Nights".
"The Other Dead Man".  "La Befana".  "How the Whip Came Back".  "How I Lost
the Second World War and Helped Turn Back the German Invasion".  "The
Rubber Bend".  "The Marvelous Brass Chess-Playing Automaton".  "The
Ziggurat".  "Our Neighbour, by David Copperfield".  "The Eyeflash
Miracles".  "Empires of Foliage and Flower".  "Tracking Song".  "Suzanne
Delage".  and so on.  It's an utterly remarkable list.
