This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Wolfe's books are vastly more intelligent and literate than most other
fantasy series, and they are not prompted by a desire to establish brand
name recognition.  That doesn't necessarily mean you will like them, but
they are simply not comparable to the usual lineup of quests for magic
swords/dragons/royalty stuff.  If you don't like Wolfe's books, it will be
for altogether more interesting reasons.  And as others have pointed out,
they're not really fantasy, though NEW SUN is superficially more like
fantasy than the other books.
