Severian's skin color

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I think Roy was saying that Quetzal only knew Tussah and Horn.
Wolfe has clarified when Quetzal entered the Whorl on the urth list by saying
that Quetzal was "a late arrival" but that he's not the only Inhumi on the Whorl.
I'm inclined to believe that the Neighbors/Inhumi were involved in the Whorl's
launching based the Inhumis' thematic connection with Dionysus and the LS/SS
similarities to the "King Midas and His Golden Touch" story.

But it's not iron-clad. Wolfe's interweaving of myth and literature can provide
clues but he *does* go off-script as I have learned with frustration. And of
course, the text itself says nothing of this.
