Who's in Oreb

James Wynn · 27 Jun 2005, 15:25 · from 2005-June.txt.gz

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Well, I will note that I said that the Rajan "ARGUABLY knows AS MUCH
*or* more about Pas than anyone".

I don't deny there is an argument to be made that others know more.
But he DOES seem rather confident regarding his knowledge in this
case.

She was a child when she was scanned. She has spent three hundred
years with him in Mainframe.

I don't claim that she has "grown up" in that time, for I don't know
whether that would be possible (either in the "real" world or in the
Lupine universe-of-discourse); but I'd be inclined to suspect that
she's learned a lot about her Da in that time. She is not, after all,
stupid.

Again, this would be true of Cilinia, but not, I think, of Scylla-in-
Mainframe: and that's who makes the statement we're dealing
with here.
