5HC (again)

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

At the time Wolfe wrote the original story, he had not yet published any books to my knowledge. Maitre's books are probably his private volumes of notes on vivisection and theories of how best to take over the world. > I like the bit about Jeanette, but can we rely on it? Veil (that which hides) could easily be an assumed name. She may even have married a Mr. Veil in an attempt to further the planetary takeover plot. -- Jeff Wilson - jwilson at io.com < http://www.io.com/~jwilson >
