TWK: 7 world cosmology

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I don't think it is "just" a nod to Darwin. He *chose* to use the word "raised" afterall. >As for this upward evolution of humans and Aelf ever nearer to the High God >that you propose, it's just not in the book, and I see no indication that > it's even theoretically possible according to the internal logic of the >cosmology. Well, you admit that Disiri was raised to human status and at the end of the book, she is on her way to Kleos. It doesn't have to be universally *done* for that to be the overall plan. In evolution, hominids aren't one day *made* human. It is a gradual process that occurs in generations rather than to a particular creature. The vast majority of genes threads do not survive, and only a remnant continue. Disiri has done it. Others will as well. In a sense Garsecg and his sister (I forget the name) become Aelf and then human as well in the form of Arnthor and Morcaine. Albeit, they do it in a backward manner that is presumably unacceptable to the MHG. >The average human in Mythgarthr is *never* going to get to Skai, >dead or alive. Dying first seems to be the standard procedure for raising humans to Skai. As for the "average human" getting to Skai: Mat 7:13 Enter through the narrow passage: for wide is the passage, and broad is the road, that leads to destruction, and many there are that go that way.
