This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.
From: bsharporflat at hotmail.com (b sharp) Date: Thu, 25 May 2006 08:03:44 -0400 Subject: (urth) Hierodules & time Message-ID: <BAY103-F3DCB12890DF8C3848C2BCD7990 at phx.gbl> Both Tzadkiel and Typhon (I think it is him) make chessboard references to the BotNS drama. Tzadkiel tells Severian that his is a race of pawns, who can only move in one direction in time, unless they reach the end (Yesod) and are brought back to the beginning to play as a new piece. Aren't the hierodules also pawns who can only move in one direction in time? But they move in the opposite direction of Severian. Typhon says Severian plays for the black team, so his opposition must be the white team. Each side has players which are not pawns. Which side are we supposed to root for?????????? -bsharp
