Digest urth.v013.n004

Michael Straight · 12 Jun 1998, 13:36 · from urth-v0013.mbox · original

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I'm not sure I know any such thing. My impression in reading that bit was
that Blood's talus had been an important enough character that Wolfe
(Horn?) wanted to give the reader some background about where taluses
come from.

Like Chekov says, if a gun goes off in the first act, you better make sure
someone finds it on the mantle in the third act.=20
