Close Reading: Torturer Chapter I

HHR · 05 Sep 2006, 14:16 · from 2006-September.txt.gz

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Sounds like a great idea. I'd very much enjoy hearing everyone's
views on the less obvious details of the chapters, I certainly
remember last time I read the first few chapters of Shadow I was
amazed at how much detail there was that I had overlooked or
forgotten the first time, and that I had never seen mention of on Urth.

With a Wiki we can each write up articles of as much or little detail
as we like, as well as centralizing the work already existing out there.
