This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Yeah, that theory was put forth some years ago. It's one of those theories that is so neat it *ought* to be true. But it can't be. Severian and his pals were swimming in the Gyoll, so the weather was still warm enough for swimming. As b sharp recently noted, "It is icy winter when Severian encounters Triskele and Valeria." Sev was outside trying to unclog a frozen drain pipe the day he found Triskele. The dog ran away a week later, and Sev met Valeria. There was snow on the ground that day. It was winter when Sev had the dog. There is no way that Sev went swimming that week, and there is no indication in IGJ that it was winter when Silkhorn saw the dog. -Roy
