This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Well, right. I'm just suggesting that Wolfe might be reworking a Van 
Vogtian (or similar) story of dawning Godhood in a Judaeo-Christian 
context. I other words: he's asking the question "What would the type of 
hero found in a Campbellian monomyth or a story by Van Vogt be like if 
the actual metaphysics of the world were based on christianity?"
