This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. By coincidence, I'm just reading the new Pinsky tranlation of the Inferno
(I'm a junkie; this is my seventh translation). Cantos V, XII, XXI mention
the earthquake. It's never said that the Harrowing caused it--never once is
Jesus's name mentioned, nor that of God, in the Inferno. But, yes, there was
an earthquake, which caused severe fissures in the stone funnel-shaped
structure of Dante's Hell.
