This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

"Captain Hook" tells Michael he will be suffocated with the bonbons, but
Michael has no trouble swallowing the bonbon, and the "Wicked Queen's"
final remark shows that that's what's supposed to happen.

Because they remove their masks, and are revealed to be "paunchy
[men/women] in a business suit."  This is all plainly depicted in the
story; unless you've misremembered the ending, I'm missing your point.

To be sure, knowing the determination with which Disney defends its
copyrights/trademarks adds resonance to the story.  (I'm tempted to make a
joke about how I would rather have Captain Hook et al. after me than
Disney's lawyers, but I'll refrain.)
