Good golly, Miss Molly!

Alice Turner · 15 Jun 1998, 19:41 · from urth-v0014.mbox · original

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

My word, man, that was simply a lame excuse to make a bad joke about
lameness! Has it come to this? Are you--our noble leader in so many
ways--going to go all *sensitive* on us? Are we going to have to pepper our
posts with l'l smiley-faces (:-) to indicate jokes? Alas, eheu, er-hem.

(Hey, all you Peters--I was joking (:-) --really!)

Don't you dare! You wouldn't be able to contain yourself anyway (;-p
