The Soundtrack

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

BTW, if you want to get into Pettersson's heavy, dark, brooding, 
music, start with Symphony 8 and then go to #9. It's dire music, of 
the classical sort of course, but very Severianesque. For something 
more joyous then turn to his 2nd Violin Concerto, which gives you 30 
minutes of  horror followed by 15 minutes of light (Jesus!) conquering horror.

Yes, well, with the glorious Vance you need something classical: 
Mozart or Haydn. Not the brooding romanticism Wolfe requires.

Of course, I show my age and prejudice in these "classical" recommendations!!
