ot-my mini review of Children of Hurin

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Thanks Dan'l! This is more or less exactly what I
meant, especially regarding the Children of Hurin, and
the tales in the Silmarillion. They are written in the
tradition of myth and epic romance - Tolkien was
playing a different game, so to speak.

Partly, yes, but I'm also aware of other contributing
factors to the fantasy genre. I guess you could say I
got caught up in making the review flow and
generalized things a bit.  But thank you all for your
interest in my opinion, it's quite flattering.
