This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

It is one of his major themes, as it is one of my major positions. I'd say
that a good fifty percent of the things we talked about, last we met, were
related to this one way or another.

As an aside, there are no primitive people. All the people extant, and all
of the people we know about historically have basically the same level of
development, in various different directions.

Who was that fool who came to the conclusion that the Trobriand Islanders
didn't know where babies came from? Malonovski orsomething like it. And
then there was Richard Burton, measuring penises across the continent of
Africa. I bet the Africans had a lot to say about him. And Margaret Mead,
who can forget her? I understand the grandchildren of her informants still
tell stories as to what an idiot she was, how gullible.
