This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

1) No, I don't think its a tiny nitpick, because one thing is assuming a supernatural event in which miracles do occur and another is subverting scientific facts or accepted present theories. Miracles are outside science - either you believe in them or not. Science is another thing. And Wolfe does try to make the science plausible.
 
 
2) I don't know if the New Sun series is supposed to be hard sci-fi, or if even Wolfe sees it that way. But as I said I believe he does try to make everything as plausible as possible.
