signing at cons

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

apropos? I well remember watching Roger Zelazny signing 14 books for a young (under 19) man while being gently teased about it being his punishment for writing "so many books" by Carolyn Cherryh and George RR Martin. The author may well be gracious, (you put your hardready into his product), but be gracious to the others around as well, please.

Two or three is no problem. Five may be pushing it. But that's just my sense of what's appropriate. Gene is invariably gracious. Matthew Groves <matthewalangroves at gmail.com> wrote:
Neat. I'm going to try to make it. Since the venue isn't a bookstoreI assume I can bring my own copy of Pirate Freedom to the signing?Would it be poor etiquette to bring a different book instead? On Feb 11, 2008 6:27 PM, wrote:> Gene will be at Capricon this coming weekend.> http://tinyurl.com/2cgbf3_______________________________________________Urth Mailing ListTo post, write urth at urth.netSubscription/information: http://www.urth.net
