This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I didn't think Moorcock was a socialist/communist. In fact, I've  
always read his stuff as being much more anarchistic (although it does  
have a decidedly leftist bent) than socialistic.  His heroes (with the  
notable exception of Hawkmoon) are usually the "just leave me alone I  
am so tired of everyone expecting me to save the Multiverse just  
because I'm the Champion" type. Some of them (Erekose) even try to run  
away from their duty.

If Moorcock were a socialist, Elric would have gone to Elwher, lead  
the people in a proletarian revolution, and then entered an arms race  
with Melnibone.  "We've got to make more soul-sucking swords before  
they do.  Mutually assured soul-sucking!"

There's a "Dr. Strangelove" joke buried in here somewhere but I can't  
get to it.
