This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. I'm trying to remember if there is any evidence that Terminus Est is 
actually particularly strong. Severian mostly uses it to cut heads off, 
not duel Excalibur and King Arthur, after all. In the one big SF fight 
he gets in with it (i.e, with Baldanders), the sword is destroyed. But 
perhaps my memory fails me.

In any case, one of the continuing tropes of BotNS is that something 
that appears medieval and mundane ("ships," "statues") are actually 
examples of advanced technology ("starships," "robots").
