This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. I won't try to defend the Crusades but you're giving
the hymn  "Onward, Christian Soldiers" a bad rap.  
The hymn does not promote militarism.     The
"Christian soldiers" are not military men who are
waging war on heathens.   They are Christians who are
urged to advance Christian ideals LIKE soldiers going
into battle.   Listen to the words and I think you'll
agree.
