Torturers as priests

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

That's fine. But while one is searching for evidence to support a theory
filling the lacunae with "it's a long time, anything could have happend" se=
ems
a little less than rigourous.

But note that the gender roles in the Whorl are diferentiated in a manner
reminicent of the church today. That doesn't appear to be the case with the
torturers of Ymar's time.

Is the equation of Silk with a torturer one of formal function or role perf=
ormed?
