This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

On reflection, that part of my theory is weak because Hoof should have 
seen Silk's astral form change appearance before they left Urth. 
Instead, I'll blame the shadowy presence that Hoof sees near the boat: 
"...there was sort of a shadow between the side and the water. Green was 
halfway up over to starboard. So to port there was this shadow, and I 
felt like she was down there, watching and listening, and she could make 
the bird talk for her when she wanted to." (RttW 17, p. 367).

I think Hoof was wrong to attribute this shadow to Scylla, but not too 
far off. I think it was the Mother, Greater Scylla's sister. Silk told 
Remora that he was taught how to communicate with her, but he also said 
that he would never have used the information while Nettle was alive. 
Silk wouldn't deliberately lie, buts it's possible his Horn side did 
this without his knowledge. It may also be that the Mother sensed the 
visit to Greater Scylla and came to investigate on her own (perhaps the 
two megatherians are in telepathic contact).

In any case, I think the presence of the Mother caused the departure of 
Horn's spirit. Seawrack's siren song had a powerful grip on him. He may 
have gone into the Mother or perhaps just went to his final rest. 
Immediately after this, Scylla tells Hoof: "He kill? Kill pa." (RttW 17, 
p. 368). The next time Silk astral-projects his form is just a younger 
Silk without any trace of Horn (RttW 19, p. 388).

Incidently, can we identify the blood-source of Juganu's astral form? He 
is blonde, hawk-nosed, and with an eye-color that reminds Hoof of an 
iceberg (RttW 17, p. 346). I'm thinking this might be another Typhon 
relative, but I'm not sure which one. It could be Tussah, since many say 
he is a clone of Typhon. Juganu shows leadership skills in bringing 
hundreds of inhumi to attack the wedding.
