"My father's mounted guard"

Henry Eissler · 09 Oct 2008, 03:17 · from 2008-October.txt.gz

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I'll second that. At least it seems odd.
And it doesn't seem likely that Thecla would have to dodge the
mounts of her own father's guard. It would seem more likely that
they're another exultant's or the Autarch's.
Do you happen to remember any mention of how old Thecla was when she
was brought to the House Absolute?
And isn't it fairly certain that Ouen was Severian's father?
