(B) Hardly anyone understands Plato's Republic. Even really smart people -
like Thomas Jefferson - go to their graves not understanding Plato's
Republic. It is important to read the whole first part (before he gets in
on the 'ideal Republic') with minute attention. What are the major events
that occur in the narrative before this discussion commences?
